Flowering cacti and community garden

Our cacti have started flowering early this year.

These cacti were given to me by a quilt member. I got three different kind and the first to flower is this red one. The others are white and yellow which I am anxiously awaiting if this gorgeous one is an example.
On Thanksgiving Monday, I visited our local Community Garden and was pleasantly surprised at the improved quality of the various plots. People have been spending quite a bit on fencing and sheds and bedding. Also I noticed quite a lot of new compost and soils.

Cosmos surround a fenced garden plot at the Community Gardens. The old CPR tracks can be seen on the left. A lot of privacy enables people to enjoy these wonderful gardens all day.

Another garden to enjoy on my stroll this autumn. A lot of berry plants and apple trees.
