We used decorative bricks from our cottage to make a kitchen mat for hot pans. We used adhesive cement, plywood and silicone caulking. It is a little heavy and the next one will be lighter and smaller.

This was one of our summer projects. We no longer use our fireplace for burning wood. Instead, we painted it, laid decorative bricks and added plants and lanterns.
